GOOD VIBRATIONS' SISTER COMPANY, GOOD RELEASING, AWARDED THREE FEMINIST PORN AWARDS IN TORONTO

Erotic Films Receive Highest Honors from International Sex-Positive Porn Awards

Good Vibrations

San Francisco, CA -- (April 18, 2011): Good Vibrations (goodvibes.com), the legendary San Francisco-based company that takes pride in providing accurate information on sexuality and toys for grown-ups, is proud to announce the that its sister company, Good Releasing, recently received three Feminist Porn Awards in Toronto for its films and performers, after having been nominated for ten.

The winners are: Most Deliciously Diverse Cast Tight Places: A Drop of Color (Reel Queer Productions/Good Releasing) by Nenna, Most Tantalizing Trans Film Billy Castro Does the Mission (Reel Queer Productions/Good Releasing) by Courtney Trouble, and Honourable Mention My Own Master (HeartCore Films/Good Releasing) by Kimberly Kane.
The winner of last year's Good Releasing Emerging Filmmaker Award, Tobi Hill-Meyer made a second film, Genderfellator (a trans-positive porn parody of a trans-phobic film) which won an honorable mention.  Good Releasing star Drew DeVeaux (Seven Minutes in Heaven 3: Fuck Yeah! and Roulette Toronto) won HeartThrob of the Year.

Nominated for 2010 AVN Awards’ “Best New Video Production Company”, Good Vibrations’ sister company Good Releasing offers various lines of edgy, alternative, and educational films that provide a exciting option for people looking for original alternatives to mainstream porn.  Representing independent artists creating authentic and diverse erotic content, Good Releasing presents three video production lines, “Reel Queer Productions,” “HeartCore Films” and the “Pleasure-Ed Series.”
Started in 2006, The Feminist Porn Awards are produced by Good For Her, a Toronto, Canada based feminist sexuality education center and sex store.  This event was started when Good For Her realized it wasn’t enough to criticize adult films for not adequately representing women’s – and in many cases, men’s – sexuality.  The Feminist Porn Awards were created with the goals of celebrating ethical, feminist porn, exposing this work to a larger audience, and creating community amongst filmmakers, performers and audience members.  Since starting the Feminist Porn Awards, Good For Her has handed out over 70 awards to movies, short films, websites, directors, heartthrobs, boundary breakers and visionaries, while shining a light on the astoundingly sexy work of these feminist artists and filmmakers.
As porn star and performance artist Annie Sprinkle famously said, “The answer to bad porn isn’t no porn
it’s to try and make better porn!”

Good Releasing offers various educational films through its Pleasure-Ed line featuring such topics as fellatio, cunnilingus, and the much-anticipated, soon to be released film “Gush: The Official Guide to the G-Spot and Female Ejaculation.”  In addition, Good Releasing features two other lines: HeartCore (edgy, creative erotic films primarily for heterosexual and bisexual audiences) and Reel Queer (LGBTQ offerings). These two lines won three awards at last year’s 2010 Feminist Porn Awards.

Good Vibrations is the San Francisco-based retailer trusted for more than three decades to provide a comfortable, safe environment for finding sex-positive products and educational materials to enhance one’s sex life.
