Good Vibrations Partners with Planned Parenthood

Pioneering Sex-Positive Retailer's GiVe Program Supports Women's Health and Wellness in California and Massachusetts

SAN FRANCISCO (November 12th, 2011): Good Vibrations, the trusted San Francisco-based retailer, announces its bicoastal partnership with Planned Parenthood during the holiday season in November and December.  They are partnering with Planned Parenthood Shasta Pacific in San Francisco, Planned Parenthood Mar Monte in Berkeley and Oakland, and Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts in Brookline throughout November and December. Good Vibrations is committed to supporting this icon of women’s health and freedom.

From November 1st – December 31st Good Vibrations’ customers can support Planned Parenthood centers online and in Good Vibrations’ Brookline, San Francisco, Berkeley and Oakland stores by making a financial gift at the time of their purchase in any Good Vibrations retail stores.  100% of your contribution goes to the nonprofit of your choice.

Planned Parenthood

Good Vibrations will be celebrating their partnerships with special fundraiser receptions and store tours in the month of December: on December 6th they will honor Planned Parenthood Shasta Pacific their Mission street store, on December 13th they will celebrate Planned Parenthood Mar Monte at their Oakland store, and their Brookline store will celebrate Planned Parenthood Massachusetts.

Planned Parenthood provides life-saving preventative health care to three million women across the country offering birth control, life-saving breast and cervical cancer screening, STD testing and treatment and HIV testing among other crucial preventative health care and information services.  Planned Parenthood believes that all people deserve the information and expert services they need to make informed, personal decisions that affect their health, their lives, and their futures.

“GiVe” is Good Vibrations' extensive donation and sponsorship program. For over 30 years Good Vibrations has partnered with hundreds of local and national non-profit organizations donating products, advertising and sponsorship for fundraisers and has provided much needed support for women’s shelters, HIV/AIDS research, art programs, LGBT benefits, breast cancer awareness and much more. Good Vibrations regularly partners with a different nonprofit organization and encourages their customers to contribute directly to them at check-out, online and in the stores.

Good Vibrations’ non-profit partnerships highlight their longstanding commitment to health and well-being for all people.  Good Vibrations Executive Vice President Jackie Strano explains, “We support Planned Parenthood’s commitment to comprehensive sex education and information and have supported Planned Parenthood in many different ways throughout the years.”

Staff Sexologist Dr. Carol Queen says, “We are confident that our customers will appreciate an easy opportunity to make a difference, for themselves and people in their communities. Planned Parenthood has stood by women and their health and well-being for over 95 years, and we intend to support them to ensure that they can continue to provide quality service to women everywhere.”
