Herotica 6® Scores Award Nomination
San Francisco -- Herotica® 6 (Down There Press) has been nominated as a finalist for ForeWord magazine's second annual Book of the Year Award in the Erotica category. Recognizing excellence in independent publishing, ForeWord magazine will announce award winners in 23 categories in its April issue. ForeWord magazine will also present $1,000 Editor's Choice Awards and formally recognize the winners at a special program on June 3 at BookExpo America, the book industry's annual trade show at McCormick Place in Chicago.
The sixth volume of the groundbreaking Herotica® series, erotica written by and for women, penetrates the intricate and complex subject of commitment and sex. New and favorite authors Carol Queen, Shar Rednour, Joan Leslie Taylor and Kate Dominic explore sexy solutions to the challenges of introducing new desires, enlivening routine sex, taking other lovers, losing a partner and creating family. In each story, the characters stretch and deepen their connection to one another through sex.
Herotica® 6 is in its third printing since its Spring 1999 release. The bestselling series has over one-quarter million books and audiotapes with the Herotica® name on them and is now available in e-book format at Publishing Online.com with other Down There Press titles. Selected stories from Herotica® 6 can be heard at Cherrybomb.com.
Down There Press is celebrating 25 years as the nation's only press devoted exclusively to books on sexuality. Down There Press has a list of innovative, lively and sex-positive titles for adults and children, including Lambda Literary Book Award finalist I Am My Lover, Small Press Award winner First Person Sexual, Exhibitionism for the Shy, Sex Toy Tales, Femalia and the Good Vibrations Guides series.

Other finalists in ForeWord's Erotica selection are Chasing Danny Boy: Powerful Stories of Celtic Eros (Palm Drive Publishing) and The Two of Us: Forbidden Tales of the French Erotique (Pythia Press).
