SAN FRANCISCO - (May 10, 2007): Good Vibrations, the legendary Bay Area company that prides itself on providing educational materials and accurate information on sexuality and toys for grown-ups, is advertising a sexy solution to the stressful MacArthur Maze situation currently affecting commuters.

The intriguing tongue-in-cheek ad appeared in the weekly San Francisco Bay Guardian and East Bay Express editions delivered to newsstands on Wednesday, May 9, 2007. The edition is current through May 15, 2007. The image can be viewed and downloaded on the Good Vibrations web site at this web link:

The image appearing in the ad depicts a womanā€™s legs wearing high-heeled shoes sticking up from the backseat of a classic convertible. The accompanying caption reads:

ā€œMs. Jones took advantage of the MacArthur Maze congestion to do a little shopping . . . and she just couldnā€™t wait to get home!ā€

An accompanying sentence provides an amusing advisory:

ā€œDo not use vibrators while operating a vehicle. Always pull over first.ā€

Since Oaklandā€™s 580-connector ramp collapsed due to intense heat from a fuel fire after a large tanker truck overturned, traffic has slowed down considerably during Bay Bridge commute hours.

ā€œWeā€™re suggesting drivers take an alternative route and stop by one of our stores,ā€ said Steve Duncan, Creative Director for Good Vibrations. ā€œOur products are designed to relieve stress and provide pleasure. Customers can shop for something fun instead of sitting in their cars, and it gives them something to look forward to when they get homeā€.
